about

This version was recorded for the Peloton Film, which premiered in April 2013. Another version will be released on the upcoming album, Gods Bark at Dawn (Martin England & the Reconstructed). This is a song written for and about my friends, my true family.

lyrics

Rolling
I like rolling in the evening
When my friends are by my side
I like sweet potato whisky
I like laughter in my side
I like dancing cross the floorboards
With my baby on my arm
I like tearing up the evening
I like pushing through to dawn

I don’t want to face the day alone
Need someone to make me feel at home
Rhythm makes me feel so full inside
Sweet soul music makes me feel alive

I like rolling in the morning
When the birds begin to croon
They get heavy in the treetops
They come marching two by two
I like sun against my sideburns
I like dogs beneath my feet
I like everything about you
Won’t you come and marry me?
